Ruth Ross

Memorial services are scheduled at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, January 15, at Hermosa Drive Church of Christ for Ruth Ross, 246 Rockin' R Red Road, Lakewood, New Mexico. PMrs. Ross, 79, died Monday, January 12, 2009 at her home. PMichael Joiner will officiate at the services. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening amp; Son Mortuary. No visitation is planned. PRuth was born November 23, 1929 in Bismarck, North Dakota, the daughter of Phillip Stolberg and Ruth Thurston Stolberg. POn Sept. 12, 1958 she was married to J. T. Ross in Anchorage, Alaska. They resided in Artesia from 1961 until moving to Iowa in 1963 and returned to Artesia in 1985. PShe was a bookkeeper and member of the Church of Christ, the Republican Party, and the Artesia Hospital Auxiliary. PShe was preceded in death by her parents, by a son Jeffrey Ross, and by a brother Bill Stolberg . PSurvivors include her husband J. T. Ross of the family home; children Terri Ross of Santa Fe, N.M., Jon Ross and wife Tammy of Artesia, and Bonnie Torrez of Cottonwood, N.M.; brothers Paul Stolberg of Clackamas, Oregon and Bob Strolberg of Corvallis, Montana; her twin sister Phyllis Main of Bothell, Wash.; grandchildren Matthew Torrez, Samantha Torrez, Jeffrey Ross, Bradley Ross and Kelsey Ross; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
