Ruth Holder

Graveside services are scheduled at 10:00 AM Monday, November 17, at Woodbine Cemetery for Ruth Holder, 307 S. 26th St., Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Holder, 93, died Saturday, November 15, 2003 at her home. Rev. Rick Sullivan will officiate at the services. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Holder, Barton Holder, Jad Holder, Jim Butcher, Jef Butcher, Ron Williams, Jeff Ellis and Chris Williams. Mrs. Holder was born August 4,1910 in Fredrick, Oklahoma; the daughter of John Drury Sprawls and Verda Ledbetter Sprawls. On Sept. 19, 1930 she was married to Truett Holder in Cisco, Texas. She came to Artesia in 1979 from Stanton, Texas. She was a Mail carrier together with her husband. She graduated from Scranton High School in Scranton, Texas and was a member of the Baptist Denomination. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Survivors include her husband Truett Holder of the family home; son Harrell Holder and wife Adela of Pecos, NM; daughter Donna Kaiser of Artesia; brother Leonard Sprawls of Ft. Worth, Texas; 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
