Ruth Crockett

Graveside services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 7, at the Crockett Family Cemetery in Hope, for Ruth Crockett, 127 Hillside Rd., Hope, New Mexico. Mrs. Crockett, 78, died Monday, September 4, 2006 at Landsun Health Service Center in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Rev. Mark Robinson will officiate at the services. Pallbearers will be Doepp Crockett, Cutler Crockett, Jacob Crockett, Randy Letcher, Don Howell, Paul Davis, Bryant Jones and Tom Giacametto. Visitation will be at Richie Crocketts home at 36 Garnet Lane starting at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday. Mrs. Crockett was born December 16, 1927 in Tularosa, New Mexico; the daughter of Alton Posey and Donna Potter Posey. She came to Artesia in 1945 from Tularosa. In December 1946 she was married to Doepp Crockett in El Paso, Texas. He preceded her in death Feb. 5, 2006. She was a housewife and member of Hope Methodist Church. She was also preceded in death by her parents, sisters Ella Mae Posey and Bonnie Posey, and a brother Donald Posey. Survivors include sons Will Crockett of Artesia, and Richie Crockett and wife Becky of Artesia; daughter Brenda Minow and husband Ben of Montana; brother A. J. Posey of Timberon, N.M.; grandchildren William Cutler Crockett and wife Tayni of Artesia, Richard Doepp Crockett and wife Kristy of Artesia, Jacob Crockett of Artesia, Jessie Crockett of Artesia, Tom Giacametto of Montana, Roxey Killens of Montana, Tammy Rissom of Montana, and Kristy Minow of Montana; 7 great-grandchildren.
