Ruben Aguilar

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 AM, Friday, July 9, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Ruben Marquez Aguilar of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Aguilar, 68, died July 3, 2021 at his home in Artesia.

Father Vijay will officiate at the services. Burial will follow the services at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ricky Esquibel, Saul Ordoñez, Justin Larson, Stephen Esquibel, Dickie Townley, and Jim Townsend. Honorary pallbearer will be JoeDee Fanning.

Visitation will be at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church from 4 pm to 6:30 pm on Thursday. A rosary is also scheduled for 6:30 pm.

Ruben was born October 16, 1952 in Artesia NM to Pedro Aguilar and Rosa Marquez Aguilar. On July 6, 1974 he was married to Patricia Hernandez in Carlsbad, NM.

He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church where he was very active. He enjoyed working and staying busy.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother Peter Aguilar.

Survivors include his wife Patricia; his mother Rosa Aguilar of Artesia; a son Jared Aguilar and wife Erin of Lincoln, NM; a daughter Liana Larson and husband Justin of Katy, Texas; brother Ramon Aguilar of Artesia; sisters Olga Aguilar of Santa Barbara, Calif., Connie Esquibel and husband Ricky of Austin, Texas, and Lori Ordonez and husband Saul of Dexter, NM; grandchildren Kristen Gibson, Isabella Larson, and Delanie Larson.
