Rozella King

Services are scheduled at 10:00 A.M. Monday, October 18, at West Main Baptist Church for Rozella M. King, Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. King, 85, died Friday, October 15, 2004 at her home. Don Ragland and Wayne Derrick will officiate at the services. Interment services will be at 3:00 P.M. Monday at Fort Sumner Cemetery in Fort Sumner, N.M. Pallbearers will be Mark King, Lonnie King, Lee King, Randy Hays, Kim Colwell, and Ronny Derrick. Mrs. King was born October 12, 1919 in Gage, Oklahoma; the daughter of Jack Boswell and Myrtle Plaunty Boswell. On May 10, 1938 she was married to James C. King in Vernon, Texas. She came to Artesia in 1968 from Las Vegas, New Mexico. He preceded her in death Aug. 24, 1977. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son Cyril Lee Pete King; grandsons Darren King and Bo Derrick, and a granddaughter Kay Lee Hays. She was a homemaker and member of West Main Baptist Church. Survivors include sons Larry King and wife Donna of Las Vegas, N.M., Terry King and wife Joyce of Las Vegas, Ronald King and wife Rita of Santa Teresa, N.M., and Kevin King and wife Nancy of Artesia; daughters Patsy Colwell and husband Danny of Carlsbad, N.M., Donna Hays and husband Gordon of Las Vegas, Melody Simmons of Artesia, and Debra Mitchell and husband Marc of Artesia; a brother Roland Boswell of Brownsville, Texas; 22 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Vista Care Hospice Foundation, 611 N.
