Graveside services are scheduled at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 13, at Woodbine Cemetery for Roy Ellis Ingram, 609 W. Richardson, Artesia, New Mexico. PMr. Ingram, 92, died Sunday, September 9, 2007 at his home. PRev. Paul Dean Duerksen will officiate at the services. Pallbearers will be grandsons Mike Whitefield, Wayne Young, Ryan Young, Dr. Matt Furst, Richard Bonnet and great-grandson Jeremy Whitefield. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Needham, Bill Gray, Bob Mayberry, Bill Johnson, Bill Case, Harmon Bush, and Johnny Crook. PMr. Ingram was born July 11, 1915 in Blooming Grove, Texas; the son of Luther E. Ingram and Carrie Pullin Ingram. He came to Artesia in 1925 from Blooming Grove, Texas. POn March 19, 1934 he was married to Alma B. Pearson in Roswell, New Mexico. They were married for 71 years before she preceded him in death April 1, 2005. He was also preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter Alma B. Ingram, sister Minnie Opal Howard, brother-in-law Melvin Pearson, son-in-law Richard Young and a granddaughter Britta Young. PHe was a farmer in the Cottonwood area and a businessman. He was a member of First United Methodist Church for over 50 years, a 32nd degree Mason and was a lifetime member of the Shrine. PSurvivors include daughters Kay Whitefield and husband Doug of Odessa, Texas, Sue Young of Frisco, Texas, and Betty Tennant and husband Sam of Venice, Florida; brothers H.V. Parker, Jr. and wife Betty of Blossom, Texas, Robert Buddy Parker and wife Wanda of Clarksville, Texas; sister Helen Tidwell of Roswell; sister-in-law Joe Ann Pearson of Lake Arthur, N.M.; grandchildren Mike Whitefield and wife Glenda of Lubbock, Texas, Suzette Furst and husband Matt of Odessa, Suanne Bonnet and husband Richard of Houston, Texas, Wayne Young and wife Sharyn of Frisco, Ryan Young and wife Trulie of Austin, Texas; great-grandchildren Shanna Ross and husband Cody of Lubbock, Jeremy Whitefield of Lubbock, Maggie, Emily, and Abigal Furst of Odessa, Rachel and Stephanie Young of Frisco, great-great-grandchild Wyatt Ross of Lubbock; numerous nieces nephews. PThe family would like to thank caregivers for the loving care they gave Roy at his home. They are Janis Day, Johanna LaRue, Leslie Underwood, Cheryl Savoie, DeeAnn Baer, Letty Bagwell. Also a special thank you to Lakeview Christian Hospice Care.
