Roy Harkness

No services are scheduled for Roy J. Harkness of Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Harkness, 58, died Sunday, March 2, 2003 at his home. Cremation has take place under the direction of Terpening Son Mortuary. Mr. Harkness was born December 19, 1944 in Carlsbad, New Mexico; the son of William J. Harkness and Dolly Wade Harkness. He served in the United States Army and was a lifetime resident of Eddy County. He worked as an auto mechanic and was a member of the Baptist denomination and the Carlsbad Lions Club. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; and a daughter Vena Sue Briscoe. Survivors include a son, Dusty D. Reeves of Artesia; two daughters, Windy R. Turner of Artesia and Charity Bell Reeves of Lubbock, Texas; a brother, Julian Harkness of Carlsbad; a sister, Naomi Johnston of Carlsbad; and 14 grandchildren.
