Roxie Frederick

January 26, 1918 — March 5, 2011

Roxie Ellen Frederick passed away on March 5, 2011, at the age of 93, surrounded by her loved ones. Graveside services will be held at Woodbine Cemetery on Tuesday, March 8th, at 10:00 a.m. with Bro. Rick Sullivan officiating. Her grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Roxie was born January 26, 1918 to William Jacob Timmer and Carrie Frances Duren Timmer in Mountain View, Oklahoma. She was raised in Oklahoma where she met and married Claudie Esley Frederick on November 4, 1933. They moved to the Artesia area after the Great Depression and World War II and remained here for the rest of their lives.

She was employed at Fashion Cleaners and Mrs. Petes Hamburgers as well as being a homemaker. In her later years she enjoyed the company of her children, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren. She will be fondly remembered by her commitment to her family, her strong will, wisdom and wit, and her insightful stories of her lifes journeys, passed on to the many generations she was part of creating. Her gentle laughter, strength, and love will truly be missed by all of her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Claudie Esley Frederick on May 22, 1993, sons Floyd Frederick and Michael Frederick, sonsinlaw Billy Gill and Ray Witt, 3 sisters and 3 brothers.

She is survived by a brother Claude Timmer of California sons Larry Frederick and wife Nikki of Ft. Sumner, N.M., Donald Frederick and wife Carolyn of Artesia, Ronald Frederick and wife Brenda of Carlsbad, N.M. daughters Maxine Gill of Roswell, N.M., Juanita Witt of Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Claudette Easley of Austin, Texas 16 grandchildren, 29 greatgrandchildren and 8 greatgreatgrandchildren.
