Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 26, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Rosemary H. Gallegos of Artesia, New Mexico.
Mrs. Gallegos, 74, died Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Artesia General Hospital Emergency Room.
Fr. Martin Cornejo O.F.M. will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren Matthew Benoit, Alexis Davalos, Hannah Benoit, Ryan Gallegos, Christian Poucket, Sean Poucket, and Adam Gallegos.
Visitation will be at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church Tuesday beginning at 4:30 p.m. A rosary will be at Our Lady of Grace Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
Rosemary was born December 29, 1939 in San Angelo, Texas the daughter of J.C. Head and Agnes Kastner Head.
On September 2, 1961 she was married to Jose Gallegos in Portales, N.M. They came to Artesia in 1962 from Portales.
Rosemary worked as a Substitute Elementary School Teacher. She was an active member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. She was a Catechism Teacher, member of the San Jose Society, and a member of the Church Family Choir.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother Marion Hightower.
Survivors include her spouse Jose Gallegos of the family home daughters Alicia Gallegos of Grants, N.M., Lucia Benoit and husband Paul of Floyd, N.M., and Monica Poucket and husband Jeff of Southlake, Texas sons Christopher Gallegos of Washington D.C., and David Gallegos and wife Cheryl of Carlsbad, N.M. sister Gennee Schubert of Dallas, Texas and brother C.J. Head and wife Betty of New York City, NY 7 grandchildren 4 greatgrandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
