Ronald Eubanks

Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, at First Baptist Church in Kaufman, Texas for Ronald Lee Eubanks of Kaufman. Mr. Eubanks, 61, died Saturday morning, June 21, 2008 in a Dallas hospital. Dr. Brent Gentzel and Rev. David Whitson will officiate at the services with burial at Wilson Chapel Cemetery in Oak Grove. Pallbearers will be John Davis, Chuck King, Dan Webb, Garland Willis, Jeremy Wofford, and Steven Wofford. Members of the Harris Sunday School Class have been designated as honorary pallbearers. Ron was born Dec. 11, 1946, in McKinney, Texas; the son of Boyd Eubanks and LaVada Pruitt Eubanks. His parents preceded him in death. He was raised in Altoga and graduated from McKinney High School. He attended Austin College for a year and moved to Commerce where he attended East Texas State University. Ron graduated with his BBA in accounting and then received his master's degree in 1977. On June 14, 1968, he married Penny Cunnyngham in Pike. He moved to Greenville where he worked as an accountant for seven years. He later moved to Rockwall where he coached junior high school football and taught and was the high school principal for the last five years in Rockwall. Ron moved to Kaufman where he was the high school principal and later was the assistant superintendent when he retired in 2002. Ron was an active member of the First Baptist Church and the Kaufman Lions Club. Survivors include his wife Penny Eubanks of the family home; a son Greg Eubanks and wife Marci of Beaumont; a daughter Wendy Neal and husband Bryan of Kaufman; and grandchildren Sandra, Eli and Emma Eubanks and C.R. and Vada Neal. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church, 302 S. Washington Ave., Kaufman, Texas 75142 or to the Kaufman School District Scholarship fund. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home of Kaufman.
