Robin was born on March 10, 1955 in Artesia, New Mexico. On March 5, 1977 she married David Jackson, and together they had two children, Kale and Mackenzie.
Robin taught English for 32 years, teaching at both Park Junior High and Artesia High School. She received the Golden Apple Excellence for Teaching Award in 2005, given to New Mexico's most outstanding teachers. In 2008, she became the AHS English Department Head until her retirement in 2011.
Robin's teaching took her students beyond the classroom. She taught them to enjoy every minute of the day and to attack life with vigor. She was loved and adored by both students and staff alike. She brought passion to every project she took on - from the "Roadkill Divas" at Bulldog pep assemblies to organizing the Homecoming parade. She never did anything halfway.
A lover of music, Robin incorporated music into much of her teaching challenging her students to find the hidden meaning within a song and educating them on the classics like the Beatles, U2 and the Stones. She believed in the power of the pen and often told them that your words have power. She encouraged others to think outside the box and step out of their comfort zone. Never one to back down, she always stood up for what she believed in.
Everything she did, she did it with passion. To her, teaching was not just a job. She poured her heart into her students and poured that much more into her own family and children. Robin never stopped caring for others. Even into retirement she wrote down her goals and aspirations for the future.
She was the embodiment of what it means to be an Artesia Bulldog. She has been described by many as the face and the heart of Artesia High School.
