Roberto Rodriguez

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Roberto T. Rodriguez of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Rodriguez, 81, died Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at his home.

Fr. Martin Cornejo O.F.M. will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Joshua Garcia, Caleb Samora, R.J. Rodriguez, Jourdan Rodriguez, Juan Gomez,and Zachary Garcia. Honorary pallbearers will be Ernest Almanza and the remaining grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Tuesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. A rosary will be at Our Lady of Grace Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

Roberto was born March 20, 1933 in Presidio, Texas the son of Guillermo Rodriguez and Herlinda Tavarez Rodriguez.

On Jan. 30, 1955 he was married to Elvira C. Carrasco in Carlsbad, N.M. They came to Artesia in 1955 from Carlsbad. She preceded him in death April 20, 2013. He was also preceded in death by his parents daughter Cindy Almanza two brothers and two sisters.

Roberto was a farm laborer and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He also loved to raise goats and be with his family.

Survivors include his son Raul Rodriguez and wife Lorrene of Artesia daughters Selena Garcia, Terry Rodriguez, and Jeanie Garcia all of Artesia soninlaw Ernest Almanza of Artesia grandchildren Shannon Garcia, Joshua Garcia, Amber Rodriguez, Ashley Almanza, Caleb Samora, R.J. Rodriguez, Jourdan Rodriguez, Zachary Garcia, Alyssa Garcia, and Cheyenne Navarrette greatgrandchildren Ayden Gomez, Kaycen and Madilynn Samora sister Gloria Sierra of Bosque Farms, N.M. and a brother Willie Rodriguez of Artesia.
