Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, at First United Methodist Church for Roberta Havins of Artesia, New Mexico.
Mrs. Havins, 95, died Monday, December 7, 2015 at Artesia General Hospital.
Monty Leavell will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery.
Roberta was born August 2, 1920 in Laverne, Oklahoma; the daughter of Fred Chambers and Leta (Coates) Chambers. She moved to Hope, New Mexico as a child and graduated high school there and later moved to Artesia in 1940.
Roberta was an Owner/Operator of Artesia Furniture. She was a member of First Baptist Church and First United Methodist Church. She loved spending time with her family and her church family. In her spare time of running her business she enjoyed bowling in her younger years.
Roberta was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Orville and Gene Chambers; son-in-law Johnny Fanning; and sister-in-law Rita Chambers.
Survivors include her daughter Gerene Fanning of Artesia; son Eddie Joe Havins and wife Carol of Chandler, AZ; grandchildren Jed Fanning and wife Susan of Las Cruces, N.M., Joe Dee Fanning and Wife Lynn of Artesia, Jill Carpenter and husband Dean of Sweeny, Texas, Alexa Bruening and husband Justin of Westlake Village, CA, and Chad Havins of Chandler; great-grandchildren Haylee Neel, Lynzee Kelly, Jared Fanning, Jael Clark, Brittney Carpenter, Caleb Carpenter, Trevor Carpenter, Keira Havins, Lexington Bruening, and Zane Bruening; great-great grandchildren Livy Smith, and Kobe and Corinne Kelly; and several nieces and nephews.
