Robert Thomas

Memorial services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013 at First Christian Church for Robert B. Thomas of Artesia, N.M.

Mr. Thomas, 65, died Saturday, March 2, 2013 at his home.

No visitation is planned. Cremation is under the direction of Terpening Son Mortuary. Honorary pallbearers will be all friends, coworkers at Brewer Oil Company and all former and current Military personnel. The family will receive friends beginning at noon Saturday at the home of James and Janice Thomas at R589 N. 26th St.

Robert was born May 5, 1947 in Artesia the son of Gray Thomas and Pat White Thomas. He was a 1965 Graduate of Artesia High School and honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

He worked for Brewer Oil Company for 20 plus years in construction and as an equipment operator.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sisterinlaw Gerry and Peggy Thomas, and by former wife Linda Ruth Thomas.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or to a charity of choice.

Survivors include sons Steven Thomas and wife Jinny of Roswell, N.M. and Joe Bret Cain and wife Eva of Fort Campbell, Kentucky daughters Stacie Turpen and husband Jeff of Hagerman, N.M. and Kyra McClaughlin and husband Jason of Artesia a brother James Thomas and wife Janice of Artesia an aunt Martha Ashabraner and husband Brent of West Virginia nieces Jennifer Thomas of Roswell, Debbie Evans and husband James and Amber Wells and husband Greg all of Houston, Texas a nephew Mike Thomas and wife Cristen of Amarillo, Texas and numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
