Robert Shuman

Memorial services are scheduled at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 11, at the Bosque Farms Church of Christ for Robert Lee Shuman of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Shuman, 91, died Saturday, September 7, 2013 at his home.

Cremation is under the direction of Terpening Son Mortuary.

Robert was born January 9, 1922 in Kirkland, Texas the son of Joseph Lee Shuman and Zola Mae Coats Shuman.

He served his country in the United States Air Force during World War II.

On April 11, 1946 he was married to Nelda Ruth Booker in Lubbock, Texas. They moved around alot but considered Peralta, New Mexico home.

Robert was an electrical engineer. He received his Bachelors Degree in electrical engineering in 1950 from Texas Tech University. He was a member of the Church of Christ. In every location Robert and Nelda lived, he was very active member in church. He was a true shepherd, a teacher, preacher, and song leader. He also helped establish the church in Bosque Farms.

He was preceded in death by his parents son Robert Lee Shuman, II. and a sister Maydell Brooks.

Survivors include his wife Nelda Shuman of the family home daughters Karen and husband Bob, Cheryl and husband Doyl, Pam, Cynthia and husband Les, and Shauna and husband Todd sons Greg, Joe and wife Laneigha, and Johnny and wife Debbie grandchildren Angel, Zachary, Lynetta, Robin, Amber, Stacy, D.L., Leslie, Lene, Brian, Season, Matt, Klyrisa, Jennifer, Meagan, Colin, Chris, Caris, Lee, Tiffany, Landon, Carter, Christopher, Cara Beth, Jessica, Tyler, and Ashley greatgrandchildren Ana, Katelyn, Megan, Taylor, Toby, Trevor, Truxton, Sarah, Joseph, Jacob, Joshua, Mason, Abby, Kayla, Emma, Nolan, Kolton, Hanna, Jaidyn, Avri, Haley, Mackenzi, Laurel, Levi, Samuel, Graham, Leanna, Shelton, Liam, Rowen, Sadie Jo, Pierce, Sissy, Adrian, Bailey, Micah, Amanda Radyn, Baby Girl, Adaelyn, Embry, Peyton, and Presleigh greatgreatgrandchildren Carleigh, and Arlaric sisters Louise Hadaway, and Ruby White and brother Wayne Shuman.
