Robert Orquiz

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Friday, July 29, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Robert D. Orquiz, Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Orquiz, 53, died Monday, July 25, 2005 in Artesia. Father Richard Lifrak SS. CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Fred Balencia, David De La Rosa, Ivan Villa, Hector Perez, Israel Soto, and Augustine Torrez. A vigil service is also planned for 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Grace. Visitation at Terpening Son Mortuary will begin at 10:00 a.m. Thursday. Robert was born December 12, 1951 in Artesia; the son of Ramon Orquiz and Elisa De La Rosa Orquiz. He was a 1970 graduate of Artesia High School. On Feb. 28, 2005 he was married to Antoiennette Ybarra in Lubbock, Texas. He was an agricultural laborer and member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his mother Elisa in 1996. Survivors include his wife Antoiennette Orquiz of family home; his father Ramon Orquiz of Artesia; sons Robert Orquiz, Jr. and Ramon Orquiz both of Dallas, Texas; daughters Jennifer Butler, Veronica Watts, and Xochil Orquiz all of Artesia; a brother John Orquiz of Roswell, N.M.; sisters Sylvia Burnett of Artesia and Kathy Cobos of Aurora, Colo.; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
