Robert Lovato

A memorial mass will be held at 4 pm Friday, December 29, at St. Anthony Catholic Church for Robert James Lovato of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Lovato, 89, died Monday, December 25, 2017 at his home.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary.

Robert was born July 10, 1928 in Rawlins, Wyoming: the son of Delfino Lovato and Julia Aurelia Cordova.

On September 18, 1949 he was married to Roma Tueng in Rawlins, Wyoming. They moved to Artesia in April 2013.

He was a clothier and entreprenuer. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Elks Lodge, Lions Club and was founder of the Latin American Club in Wyoming.

Robert served in the United States Army during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Ernest Lovato, a brother Ernie Lovato, and sisters Mary Duran, Emma Harris and Dora Lujan.

Survivors include his wife Roma of Artesia; sons Otto Lovato of Wyoming, Anthony Lovato of Arizona, Michael Lovato of Wyoming and John Lovato of Wyoming; daughters Judene Lovato of Oregon, Roma Audiss of South Dakota, Aurmelia Decker of Wyoming, Robin Romero of Nevada, Bernadette Lovato of Wyoming and Anastasia Lovato of Artesia; 29 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
