Robert Long

Services are scheduled at 10:00 A.M. Monday, June 9, at Terpening Son Chapel for Robert O. Long of Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Long, 51, died Thursday, June 5, 2008 in Artesia. Pastor Steve Ormord will officiate at the services. Cremation will be under the direction of Terpening Son Mortuary. Mr. Long was born July 21, 1956 in Noblesville, Indiana; the son of John P. Long and Vera Walker Long. He was a member of the United States Army for a short period of time before being medically discharged. He came to Artesia in 1978 from Indiana. Robert was a former sales manager for Flow Products. He was also an avid outdoorsman, and loved to spend free time working on old cars trucks. He was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include his mother Vera Givens of Artesia; brothers Ron Long and wife Dee Dee of West Lafayette, Indiana, and William Long of Artesia; sisters Nancy Wyatt and husband Jim of Artesia, Marilyn Day of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Sandra Ellis and husband Bob of Arcadia, Indiana; nieces Shannon Waddell, and Lori Wilkinson; nephews Shane Wyatt and wife Gracie, Donnie Wyatt and wife Heather, Kurt Wyatt, Ronald Long, Jr., Thomas Long, William Trout, Casey Trout, and Bryan Trout; great nieces Shablee Skinner, and Kaitlynn Wyatt; great nephews Matthew Wyatt, and Taylor Wyatt; great-great-nephew Payton Demerritt.
