Services are scheduled for 10 am Friday, September 24, at Faith Baptist Church for Robert Lee Bratcher of Artesia, New Mexico.
Mr. Bratcher, 77, died on September 14, 2021 at his home in Artesia.
Michael Elliott will officiate at the services with burial to follow at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Eric Smith, Jeff Smith, Colby Smith, Phillip Cates, Otis Yates, and Scott Simer. Honorary pallbearers will be Sherrell Gurley, Doug Simer, and Tommy Cockrell.
Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary from 1 to 6 pm on Thursday.
Robert was born on February 19, 1944 in Silver City, New Mexico; the son of Clyde Jewell Bratcher and Madaline Engle Bratcher. He was a longtime resident of Artesia.
He served in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1965. He married Fran Cates Smith on May 13, 1990. He worked in the oil fields of Southeastern New Mexico, finishing his career as a lease operator for Marbob.
Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and spending time in the mountains with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ray Bratcher and Butch Bratcher, sister Marilyn White, and step-son Shawn Smith.
Survivors include his wife Fran Bratcher; daughters Jeri Lynn Garcia, and Roberta Leigh Lugo; a son Shane Bratcher; step-sons Shay Smith and Shane Smith; his twin sister Rose Crenshaw; a brother Clyde Bratcher; grandchildren Andreas Garcia, Andrico Garcia, Randon Bratcher, Leif Paul Lugo, Geneva Ruiz Lugo, Eric Smith, Jeff Smith, Colby Smith, Hannah Hughes, Sagan Walker, and Katie Smith; and also by numerous nieces and nephews.
