Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 25 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Felicita Guajardo Castillo of Kenedy, Texas.
Mrs. Castillo, 64, passed away on October 21, 2017 at San Pedro Nursing Facility in Artesia, N.M.
Fr. Jorge Vargas will officiate at the services. A rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 24 at Terpening & Son Mortuary from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Rita was born on August 28, 1953 in Midland, Texas; the daughter of John R. and Cruz (Fierro) Guajardo. She was a long time resident of Artesia.
She was a cleaning specialist and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. She loved to sew, dance, listen to Spanish music, spending time with her grandchildren and have her family all be together.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Hortensia "Horty" Guajardo and grandson Daniel Ray Huerta.
Survivors include her sons Audencio Guajardo (Nicole) of Pasadena, Texas and John Guajardo (Shara) of Kenedy, Texas; daughters Laurie Guajardo of Artesia, Lisa Guajardo Chavez of Artesia and Jessica Hatfield (Gary) of Artesia; brothers Johnny Guajardo of Hobbs, N.M., Manuel Guajardo of Artesia, Luis Guajardo of Tucson, AZ and Julian Guajardo of Artesia; sisters Frances Arredondo of Artesia, Amelia Lawson of Artesia, Rosa Guajardo of Dallas, Texas, Maria Lawson of Artesia and Margaret Guajardo of Artesia; grandchildren Jahnell Guajardo, Shaniya Guajardo, Jahnika Guajardo, Jahnese Guajardo, D'Shawne Guajardo, Gwynn Hatfield, Chelsea Hatfield, Halley Hatfield, Jasmine Hatfield, Kiersten Hatfield, La'Nice Guajardo, Audencio Guajardo Jr., Candice Perez and Kiara Johnson; great-grandchildren Aubrianna Lopez, Avayah Torres, Nylia Guajardo, Marleey Rommel and D'Meon Guajardo; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
