Services are scheduled at 9:30 A.M. Saturday, February 7 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Richard J. Dickie Rodriguez of Las Cruces, New Mexico. Mr. Rodriguez, 57, died Monday, February 2, 2004 in Las Cruces. Father Richard Lifrak SS.CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Carlos Rodriguez, Jon Rodriguez, Michael Fernandez, Anthony Fernandez, Artie Sisneros, and Alfonso Flores. A rosary service is also planned for 6:30 P.M. Friday at Our Lady of Grace. Visitation at Terpening Son Mortuary will begin at 10:00 A.M. Friday and the casket will remain closed at all times. Mr. Rodriguez was born September 20, 1946 in Artesia; the son of Simon Rodriguez and Eulalia Araujo Rodriguez. He was a lifelong Artesia resident and worked as a Classification Officer for the New Mexico State Corrections Department, South Facility. He graduated from Artesia High School in 1964. Received an Associates Degree in General Studies from Midland College in 1972; a Bachelor of Arts Degree from New Mexico State University in 1991; and a Master of Psychology Degree from New Mexico State University in 1993. He was preceded in death by his father Simon Rodriguez; grandfather Victor Araujo; and by a brother Robert Rodriguez. Survivors include his mother Eulalia Rodriguez of Artesia; sons Richard Rodriguez and Stephen Rodriguez both of Midland, Texas, and Jackie Lopez of Dallas, Texas; brothers Basilio Rodriguez and wife Yolanda of Artesia and Johnny Ramirez of Las Cruces; sisters Cecilia Fernandez and husband Johnny of El Paso, Texas and Mary Ann Peterson of Artesia; and seven grandchildren.
