Richard Nieto, Sr.

Services are scheduled at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, Apr. 12, at Terpening Son Chapel for Richard Nieto, Sr. of Roswell, New Mexico.

Mr. Nieto, 79, died Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Eastern N.M. Medical Center in Roswell.

Fr. Brian Guerrini, SS.CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be his family members.

Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Monday beginning at 10:00 a.m. A prayer service will be Monday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Nieto was born February 27, 1932 in Roswell, New Mexico the son of Edward Nieto and Estella Montoya Nieto.

On June 14, 1953 he was married to Anita Martinez in Artesia, N.M. He came to Artesia in 1953 from Roswell. She preceded him in death October 7, 2007. He was also preceded in death by his parents son David Nieto and sister Anita Chavez.

Richard served his country in the United Stated Army. He was a plumber, and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.

Survivors include his son Richard Nieto, Jr. of Hobbs, N.M. daughters Terry Madrid of Richardson, Texas, Carolyn Stephens of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Lupe Nieto of Roswell, and Anna Maria Nieto of Albuquerque, N.M. sisters Rita Riverra of Roswell, Emma Nieto of Roswell, and Mary Lou Kimbrell of San Angelo, Texas brother Raymond Romero of Roswell 5 grandchildren and 5 greatgrandchildren.
