A rosary is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. with mass following at 10 a.m. Friday, February 16, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Richard N. Granados of Artesia, New Mexico.
Mr. Granados died Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, TX.
Fr. V.J. will officiate at the services with burial to follow at Lake Arthur Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Daniel Losoya, Ramon Granados, Richard Granados, Ramiro Granados, Mikey Moreno, A.J. Moreno, Joey Granados and Michael Casares. Honorary pallbearer will be his great-grandchildren, Arturo Valles, Raunchy Chavarria and Jeremiah Casares. Visitation will be held on Thursday at Terpening & Son Mortuary from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Richard was born on April 9 in Banderas, Chihuahua, Mexico; the son of Antonio and Juanita (Nunez) Granados. On May 1, he married Elfida Chavarria in Artesia. He was a longtime resident of Artesia.
He was a sandblaster and roustabout for Stevenson-Roach and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, football and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, a granddaughter, a grandson and a son-in-law.
Survivors include his wife Elfida Granados of Artesia; daughters Camie Casares, Ronnie Granados, Rebecca Granados and Rikki Granados all of Artesia; brothers Antonio Granados of Odessa, TX, Daniel Granados of Artesia; Hector Granados of Oddessa, TX and Seferino Granados of San Elizario, TX; sisters Olga Urias of Pecos, TX, Jane Granados, Dora Gardea and Rosa Ornelas all of Odessa, TX; 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
