Rhea Thompson

Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, at Calvary Baptist Church for Rhea Elaine Thompson, 209 York St., Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Thompson, 71, died Friday, May 10, 2013 at her home.

Rev. Rick Smith will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family members.

Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10 a.m. Monday.

Rhea was born January 10, 1942 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas the daughter of Curtis Arnold and Mae Garvin Arnold. She came to Artesia in 1968 from Idalou, Texas.

On Nov. 5, 1969 she was married to Darrell Thompson in Andrews, Texas.

She was a housewife and member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sons Mike Holder and Tommy Holder, and a sister June.

Survivors include husband Darrell Thompson of Artesia daughters Lisa Deel of Lubbock, Texas, and Kathy Miller of Lubbock sister Shirley Ann Anders of Lubbock grandchildren Caleb Lewis, Brad Lewis, Brittany Johnson, Kristin McNeely, Alisha Miller, Joshua Deel, and Clinton Deans greatgrandchildren Tristin Nixon, Trevor Nixon and Kayden McNeely.
