REYNER S. GONZALES

Services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May. 6, at West Main Baptist Church for Reyner Salsberry Gonzales of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Gonzales, 79, died Friday, May 2, 2014 at Heartland Nursing Center in Artesia.

Roy Haynes will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Joshua Gonzales, Jacob Suftko, Thomas Gonzales, Danny Hinojos, Ruben Gonzales, Jr., and Emilio Gonzales, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be his loving grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Terpening son Mortuary Monday beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Reyner was born June 11, 1934 in Glenco, New Mexico the son of Ruben Gonzales and Dora Salsberry Gonzales.

On December 18,1951 he was married to Mary Padilla in Brownfield, Texas. They came to Artesia in 1952 from Texas. She preceded him in death February 13, 2008. He was also preceded in death by his parents son Larry Gonzales a brother and six sisters.

Reyner worked mostly as an electrician but also did many jobs in the oil fields. He was a member of Iglesia De Bautista and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.

Survivors include his daughters Virgie Anaya and husband Daniel of Artesia, and Patsy Gonzales and Tony Perez of Artesia sons Tommy Gonzales and Rose Madrid of Hobbs, N.M., and Ray Gonzales, Jr. of Artesia brother Ruben Gonzales, Jr. of Carlsbad, N.M. sisters Tillie Garcia of Artesia, and Rufina Rodriguez of San Bernardino, CA 10 grandchildren and 21 greatgrandchildren.
