Retta Pinson

Retta LaRue Pinson, a beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother went home to be with the Lord on August 14, 2023. She loved quilting, sewing, crocheting and all things fabric. She especially enjoyed cookouts with her family and always tried to make certain everyone had their favorite desserts. She was an extremely independent woman and meticulous organizer. She worked for Tom Brown Jr. for many years in various positions including Manager of Brown Pipe and Supply and later as personal Administrative Assistant. 

LaRue was born July 28, 1939 in Dublin, Texas, the daughter of Robert and Thelma Bishop. LaRue had three brothers, Walter Bishop, Jimmy Bishop and Bobby Bishop. She was married on April 21, 1957 to Charles Pinson, who preceded her in death on August 8, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Walter and Jimmy Bishop.

Services are scheduled for 2 pm Friday, August 18, at Terpening & Son Mortuary in Artesia, New Mexico. Jason Kraft will officiate at the services with burial to follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Clinton Pinson, Braxton White, Pyper Jones, Billy Drake, Aaron Lieb, and Dylan Pinson.

Survivors include her son Chuck Pinson and wife Leslie; son Stephen Pinson and wife Renee; daughter Michelle Drake and husband Billy; brother Bobby Bishop and wife Janette; grandchildren Stephanie Jones, Amber Weaver, Bryce Pinson, Braxton White, Shawni Pinson, McKenna Drake, Evelyn Drake, and Emily Drake; also by great-grandchildren Christa Weaver, Pyper Jones, Abby Weaver, Dakota Elliot, Dream Weaver, Zoey White, Urijiah White, Judah Pinson, Cash Preece, Everest Pinson, and Justice Pinson. She was loved and will be greatly missed by all.
