Services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 10 at Hermosa Drive Church of Christ for Relda Euldene Puckett of Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Puckett, 77, died Monday, July 5, in Artesia. Family members will officiate at the services and serve as pallbearers. Burial will follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Mrs. Puckett was born July 9, 1926 in Lamesa, Texas; the daughter of Roy L. Fry and Frankie F.Cocke Fry. She was a lifelong Artesia area resident. On June 15, 1948 she was married to William O. Bill Puckett in Cottonwood, N.M. He preceded her in death February 19, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and by a brother Roy Burton Fry. Mrs. Puckett was a housewife and member of the Church of Christ where she was very involved with pre-school classes and Vacation Bible School. She was active in her children's 4-H activities; and enjoyed playing the piano throughout her life and especially at the Good Samaritan Center. Survivors include sons William Roy Puckett and wife Suzanne, Owen Edward Puckett and wife Belinda, and Reynold Dean Puckett and wife Sandra all of Artesia, Preston Dan Puckett and wife Vana of Clayton, N.M., and Ernest Lynn Puckett of Capitan, N.M.; a daughter Jolene McCormick and husband Mike of Austin, Texas; sisters Clara of Hobbs, N.M., Mittie of Capitan, and Holly of Las Cruces, N.M.; ten grandsons and three granddaughters; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Artesia Good Samaritan Center, 1402 Gilchrist, Artesia, NM 88210 or to the New Mexico Christian Children's Home, 1356 NM Hwy 236, Portales, NM 88130-9411.
