Refugia "Cookie" Angel

Our beloved Refugia "Cookie" Vargas Angel entered GOD'S Kingdom on January 20, 2025.

Refugia, 69, was born on May 21, 1955, to Martin Rivas Vargas and Oralia Deanda Contreras in Artesia, NM. She passed away surrounded by the love of her family in Las Cruses, NM.

Refugia's favorite activities were sewing, making Floral Arrangements, going out to eat at Red Lobster and most of all she Loved giving people Hugs and Kisses. She was a Banker for over Twenty years and in addition she was a Special Ed Teacher's Aide for the last five years. Refugia had a sweet personality with a Loving heart to give upon others.

Refugia is preceded by her father, Martin Rivas Vargas; mother, Oralia Deanda Contreras; and brother, Martin Vargas Jr.

Those to cherish her memory are fiancé Jose Gomez, son Leslie Roberts aka(Lee) wife Leslie, son John Sosa, brother Henry Vargas wife Betty, sister Anna Angulo, including many loving grandchildren, nieces and nephews, family members and Friends.

A viewing will be held for Refugia" Cookie" Vargas Angel at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church on Wednesday January 29, 2025, at 8:30 am - 9:30 am, followed by the rosary at 9:30 am -10:00 am. A funeral mass will immediately follow the rosary at 10.00am.
