Raymond Ortega

Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 15, at Terpening Son Chapel for Raymond Sanchez Ortega Sr., 34 Jerry Drive, Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Ortega, 59, died Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at his home. Bro. Benny Greenlee will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard Ortega, Albert Ortega, Stan Booker, Roy Peppers, Cipriano Martinez, and Maximo Carrasco. Honorary pallbearers will be all family and friends. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10 a.m. Friday. Mr. Ortega was born December 28, 1948 in Artesia, New Mexico; the son of Epolito Ortega and Lila Sanchez Ortega. He was a lifelong resident of Artesia. He was a truck driver for Cortez Gas Company. He was preceded in death by his mother, a son, two brothers and a sister. Survivors include his father Epolito Ortega of Artesia; son Eugene M. Ortega of Hobbs, N.M.; daughter Angelina Ortega Bodge of Artesia; brothers Jimmy Sanchez of Artesia, Richard Ortega of Amarillo, Texas, Fred Ortega of Artesia, Albert Ortega of Las Cruces, N.M., and Robert Ortega of Hobbs; sisters Rosalinda Ortega of Hobbs, Carolina Ortega of Hobbs, and Sylvia Ortega of Roswell, N.M.; 14 grandchildren.
