Raul Rodriguez

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Raul Saldana Rodriguez of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Rodriguez, 86, died Saturday, January 12, 2013 at his home.

Fr. Brian Guerrini, SS.CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Victor D. Rodriguez, Cody McDonald, Daniel Rodriguez, Jodan Everett, Khoi Tran, Mateo Lopez, and Ryan Rodriguez. Honorary pallbearers will be Linsey Wright, Seth Williams, John Teagan Sandoval, Nathaniel Hall, and Josiah Rodriguez.

Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Tuesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. A rosary will be at Our Lady of Grace Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

Raul was born February 14, 1926 in Las Puentes Meoqui, Chihuahua, Mexico the son of Manuel Rodriguez and Felipa Saldana Rodriguez. He came to Artesia in 1962 from Mexico.

On March 20, 1952 he was married to Maria Paz Vega in Mexico. They came to Artesia in 1962 from Mexico.

He was a farm laborer and retired in 1991. After retirement Raul enjoyed gardening, randching, and rodeo. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.

Raul was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings.

Survivors include his wife Maria Rodriguez of the family home daughters Carmen Lopez of San Antonio, Texas, Maribel Lopez and husband Robert of Artesia, and Yolanda Hall and husband Randy of Tabor, South Dakota sons Victor Rodriguez and wife Mary Helen of Artesia, and Raul Rodriguez, Jr. and wife Sheila of Lakewood, N.M. 18 grandchildren 17 greatgrandchildren sister Amalia Jacquez of San Francisco, California and a brother Roberto Rodriguez of Chihuahua, Mexico.
