Ramona Sotelo

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 10, at St. Anthonys Catholic Church, for Ramona Susie Tonie King Sotelo, 3901 W. Grand Ave., Artesia, New Mexico. Ms. King, 67, died Saturday, January 7, 2006 in Artesia. Fr. Richard Lifrak SS. CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Henry King, Thomas Sotelo, Catarino Varelas, Gabriel Varelas, Justin Sanchez, Joe Patrick Fernandez, and Isaiah Rutledge. Honorary pallbearers will be Jesse Sotelo, Michael Munoz, Ray Juarez, Lloyd King, Marcos Munoz, and Kerry Ornelas. A vigil service will also be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Terpening Son Chapel. Ms. King was born May 26, 1938 in Santa Fe, New Mexico; the daughter of Henry King and Delfina Catanach King. In 1964 she was married to Jesus Sotelo in Spade, Texas. She came to Artesia in 1974 from Texas. He preceded her in death July 24, 1991. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and by two brothers. She was a sales clerk and member of St. Anthonys Catholic Church. Survivors include sons Henry King of Irving, Texas, Thomas Sotelo of Denver, Colorado, and Jesse Sotelo, Jr. of High Point, North Carolina; daughters Jessica Martinez of California, Lori Hernandez of California, Lupe Varelas of Hope, N.M., Flora Sotelo of Artesia, Dora Sotelo of Artesia, Favi Sotelo of Artesia, and Tina Sotelo of Artesia; brothers Henry Lloyd King of Wichita, Kansas, Ray Juarez of Dexter, N.M., Michael Munoz of Las Cruces, N.M., and Marcos Munoz of Artesia; a sister Edna Lara of Roswell, N.M.; 23 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
