Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, December 30, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church for Ramon Rivera, 320 W. Runyan Ave. Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Rivera, 41 died Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at Artesia General Hospital in Artesia, New Mexico. Fr. Richard Lifrak SS. CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Al Rivera, Joe Rivera, Fredie Rivera, Julian Rivera, Martin Rivera, and Leo Rivera. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Friday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church and the vigil services will begin at 7:00 p.m. Mr. Rivera was born July 3, 1965 in Artesia, New Mexico; the son of Reynaldo Rivera and Elodia Alvarado Rivera. He was a lifelong resident of the Artesia area until moving to Texas five years ago. He was a wire line operator and member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Ramon was preceded in death by his father, and a brother Jesse Rivera. Survivors include girlfriend, Rose Quintanero of Artesia; mother, Elodia Rivera of Artesia; sons, Ramon Rivera, Jr., Joshua Rivera, Christopher Rivera all of Midland, Texas; brothers, Dr. Manuel Rivera of Milwaukie, Wisconsin, Joe Rivera of Artesia, Fred Rivera of Artesia, Albert Rivera of Denver City, Texas, Julian Rivera of Artesia, Martin Rivera of Artesia, Leo Rivera of Artesia; sisters, Antonia Gutierrez of Roswell, Viola Natividad of Roswell, Betty Hernandez of Austin, Texas, Lucy Reik of Roswell, Rosemary Karr of Artesia, Linda Molina of Midland, Texas; and grandson, Diego Rivera of Midland, Texas.
