Ramon Balencia

Services are scheduled at 1:00 PM Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Artesia, N.M., for Ramon Hernandez Balencia, 615 W 5th St., Portales, New Mexico.

Mr. Balencia, 65, died Friday, January 18, 2013 at Roosevelt General Hospital in Portales, New Mexico.

Burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jacob Salas, Ramon Barrera Jr., Fred Cota, Joe Montoya, Christopher Salas and Anthony Balencia.

Ramon was born September 14, 1947 in Artesia, New Mexico the son of Elias Balencia and Juana Hernandez Balencia.

He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

He was a master mechanic.

He was preceded in death by his father, brothers Fred Balencia and Elias Balencia, Jr., sister Flora Anaya.

Survivors include his mother Juana Balencia of Artesia brother Domingo Balencia of Artesia sisters Lupe Martinez of Alamogordo, NM, Mary Lou Salas of Artesia, Helen Sosa of Artesia, and Vicky Dominguez of Ruidoso, NM.
