Rachel Hernandez

Services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 30, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Rachel Alice Hernandez, Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Hernandez, 54, died Friday, August 26, 2005 east of Artesia. Fr. Benedict Folger SS. CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Family members will serve as pallbearers. A vigil service is also scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday at Our Lady of Grace Church. Mrs. Hernandez was born August 18, 1951 in Tucson, Arizona; the daughter of Henry Soto and Maria Herber Soto. On Aug. 18, 1970 she was married to Gonzalo D. Hernandez in Artesia. She came to Artesia in 1973 from Tucson, Arizona. She was a housewife and member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her mother and a son William Hernandez. Survivors include her husband Gonzalo Hernandez of the family home; father Henry Soto of Ontario, Calif.; sons Hector Hernandez of Artesia, Ernesto Hernandez of San Antonio, Texas, Robert Hernandez of Artesia, Eduardo Gonzalo Hernandez of Arizona, and Henry Hernandez of New Mexico; 6 grandchildren Christina Hernandez, Michael Martin, Nicole Hernandez, Michael Ray Salinas, Idrena Hernandez and Judah Hernandez.
