Graveside Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13 for Quentin Rogers of Artesia, NM.
Mr. Rogers, 91, died Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at his home in Artesia.
Rev. Rick Sullivan and Ty Houghtaling will officiate at the services.
Quentin was born February 15, 1923 in Dayton, NM the son of Charles Rogers and Jennie Day Rogers. He was a lifelong area resident.
On July 10, 1946 he was married to Geraldyne Culbertson in Artesia.
He was a farmer and a member of First Baptist Church, a founding member of the Eddy County Sheriffs Posse, the Artesia Rural Water Coop, a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge, a recepient of the Artesia Soil Water Conservation Achievement Award and lifetime Farm Bureau member.
Mr. Rogers served in the United States Army during World War II. As a Platoon Sergeant he was overseas with the 1st and 3rd Armies in Europe. He supervised the actions of 4gun crews while in combat and set up antiaircraft defense of a field artillery unit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and 10 brothers.
Survivors include his wife Geraldyne Rogers of Artesia sons Charles Rogers of Artesia and Kent Rogers of Artesia grandchildren Denise Rogers, Christopher Rogers, KayAnne Gray, Thomas Quentin Rogers and Kimberly Rogers and 3 greatgrandchildren.
