Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 27, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Porfiria Aranda Lujan, 710 N. Roselawn Ave., Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Lujan, 87, died Thursday, August 23, 2007, surrounded by her loving family in Roswell, New Mexico. A rosary is also scheduled for 7 p.m. Sunday at Our Lady of Grace Church. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be grandsons Rene Brito, J. J. Leos, Armando Dito Lopez, Angelo Lujan, and Hector Ramirez, great-grandson Cloud Corona. Honorary pallbearers will be the rest of her grandchildren. Mrs. Lujan was born September 15, 1919 in Mulato, Chihuahua, Mexico; the daughter of Senobio Aranda and Tirza Renteria Aranda. On April 13, 1944 she was married to Manuel B. Lujan in Mulato, Mexico. She came to Artesia in 1959. He preceded her in death March 8, 1999. She was a homemaker and member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Survivors include daughters Herminia Gomez of Artesia, Emma Pinon and husband Jesus of Roswell, Aida Brito and husband Alonzo of Odessa, Texas, Nettie Leos of Roswell, and Velia Lopez and husband Armando of Roswell; son Jose Pepe Lujan of Artesia; brothers Florencio Aranda of Presidio, Texas, and Issac Aranda of Presidio; sister Flora Lujan of Odessa; 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Roswell Vista Care Hospice and Eastern New Mexico Medical Center for their professional support and care of their mother.
