Phyllis "Fifi" Gilchrist, 93, beloved Mother, Grandmother and friend passed away on March 7, 2016
Fifi was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Helen Bartlett; husband Creighton Gilchrist, and her brother Bill Bartlett. She is survived by her sister Shirley Metzler, her children; Susie Troublefield and husband Glen, Robert Gilchrist, Barbara (Pug) Webb and husband Mark, Dana Sparks and husband Mark. Her grandchildren include: Reese Troublefield, Laurie Troublefield, Jason Webb, Jarrett Webb, Ian Hancox, Tanner Gilchrist, Su-Zette Sparks, and Kaycee Pound. Her great-grandchildren are Nicole, Jenna, Courtney, Ayden, Jace and Dakota.
Fifi had many interests such as gardening, playing bridge, poker, and dominos. She was a very accomplished artist and quite a "fisherman". Fifi and Creighton spent much time in the Sacramento Mountains at their sweet cabin. Fifi was a loving wife, enjoyed being with her family and socializing with her wonderful friends. She always laughed at a good joke.
Pallbearers will be Reese Troublefield, Jason Webb, Jarrett Webb, Ian Hancox, Tanner Gilchrist, and Bob Shoemaker. Honorary pallbearers will be James Metzler, Chad Hudgins, Devon Hudgins, Bobby Ferguson, Jim Ferguson, and Robbie Miller.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday March 14, 2016 at First Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 402 W. Grand Ave., Artesia, NM. Burial will follow at Woodbine Cemetery.
Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, www.shrinershospitals.org/Donate; Girl Scouts of America, www.girlscouts.org, or charity of your choice.
