Phil Hawkins

Memorial services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at First Baptist Church for Phillip Carl Hawkins, 185 E. Blevins Rd, Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Hawkins, 70, died Saturday, February 9, 2013 at his home.

Rick Sullivan will officiate at the services. Cremation will be under direction of Terpening Son Mortuary.

Phil was born March 8, 1942 in Canyon, Texas the son of Advil Ray Hawkins and Verta Gem Clark Hawkins. He came to Artesia in Oct. 1981 from Rusk, Texas.

In January 1962 he was married to Naomi Sue Heinatz in Austin, Texas.

He served in the United States Air Force. He was a rancher and Oilfield Compliance Officer, a member of American Quarter Horse Assoc., N.M. Farm and Ranch, and the American Boer Goat Assoc.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife Naomi Hawkins of Artesia sons Cory Hawkins of Artesia, and Culy Hawkins of Artesia daughter Cody Hawkins of Artesia brothers David Hawkins of Dumas, Texas, Alan Ray Hawkins of Canyon, Texas, and Don Hawkins of Plainview, Texas aunt Betty Morrison of Canyon many granchildren and greatgrandchildren.
