Pete Rodriquez

Services are scheduled at 10:00 AM. Wednesday, February 18, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Pete Duran Rodriguez, 27 W. Blevins Rd., Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Rodriguez, 68, died Saturday, February 14, 2004 at his home in Artesia. Fr. Benedict Folger SS. CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Sammy C. Rodriguez, Pete C. Rodriguez, Danny C. Rodriguez, Harvey C. Rodriguez, Scott Bryant, and John F. Perez. Honorary pallbearers will be all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Rodriguez was born July 30, 1935 in Malaga, New Mexico; the son of Cleto Rodriguez and Maria Duran Rodriguez. On December 11, 1959 he was married to Carmen L. Calderon in Carlsbad, NM. He came to Artesia in 1961 from Loving, NM. He was a Farm laborer and member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. A rosary is also scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Grace Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, a daughter, two brothers, and a grandson. Survivors include his wife Carmen C. Rodriguez of the family home; daughters Cordelia R. Chavez and husband Jesus of Artesia, Dora R. Maldonado and husband Ray of Hobbs,NM, RosaLinda R. Candelaria of Artesia, Arlene R. Perez and husband John of Artesia, and Christy R. Bryant and husband Scott of Artesia; sons Sammy C. Rodriguez and wife Rebecca of Artesia, Pete C. Rodriguez and wife Caroline of Hobbs, Danny C. Rodriguez of Artesia, and Harvey C. Rodriguez and wife Janice of Loving; sisters Lasara R. Palma of Odessa, Texas, and Beatrice R. Contreas and husband Daniel of Carlsbad, NM; brothers Eugene D. Rodriguez and wife Romie of Loving, and Ernesto D. Rodriguez of Albuquerque, NM; 40 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
