Gerry Thomas, 55 and Peggy Harrison Thomas, 54 of Conroe, formerly of Amarillo died in Childress, Texas on Monday, December 15th. Memorial Services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 20, 2003 at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. with Jay Roberson, Tascosa Fellowship officiating. Cremation has taken place. Gerald Glen Thomas was born November 1, 1948 to Gray and Pat Thomas of Artesia, New Mexico. He graduated from Artesia High School and ENMU in Portales, New Mexico. He was an accountant in Amarillo, Texas for many years and was currently employed by Maxus Energy Corporation of Houston, Texas. While in Amarillo, Gerry was very active with the youth soccer program. Peggy Lagene Harrison was born December 21, 1948 to A.J. and Ernestine Harrison of Roswell, New Mexico. She graduated from Roswell High School and ENMU in Portales, New Mexico. In addition to being a full time mother, Peggy also taught school in Amarillo. Gerry and Peggy were currently living in Conroe, Texas, but were visiting their son in Amarillo before they were tragically killed in a car accident. Gerry and Peggy were married in Roswell in 1969. They are survived by their children, Deborah Evans and her husband James of Houston, Michael Thomas and friend Kristen, of Amarillo, and Amber Thomas and friend, Greg of Houston. Also, they have three grandchildren, Anthony, Makenzie, and Colton. Gerry had two brothers, both of Artesia, Robert Thomas and James Thomas and his wife Janice. Peggy had two sisters, Carol Montgomery of Tempe, Arizona and Pat Dodson and her husband Bob of Roswell. The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice.
