Services are scheduled at 10:00 A.M., Monday, December 12 at Lamesa Church of Christ in Lamesa, Texas for former Artesia resident Peggy Baldwin. Mrs. Baldwin, 81, died Friday, December 9, 2005 at Medical Arts Hospital in Lamesa. Services will be officiated by Mark Hackett, Rick and Russ Baldwin, and Mike and Judy Brooks. Interment services are scheduled 3:00 P.M. Monday at Woodbine Cemetery in Artesia. Peggy was born November 7, 1924 in Santa Fe, New Mexico to Harold Hamill and Mittie White Hamill. She spent her childhood in Hope and Artesia. She graduated from Artesia High School in 1942. She married Charles Baldwin on March 31, 1946 in Artesia. They moved to Lamesa in 1963. She was a devoted homemaker and wife. She worked at Lamesa Federal Savings and Loan for many years and enjoyed traveling and visiting her family. She was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ and taught Sunday school for many years. Survivors include her husband Charles Baldwin of the family home; sons Rick Baldwin of Kanai, Alaska and Russ Baldwin of Anchorage, Alaska; a daughter Judy Brooks of Austin, Texas; a sister Mrs. Lenard Henderson of Buchanan Dam, Texas; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Branon Funeral Home in Lamesa is in charge of arrangements.
