Pearl Wier

Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, at Terpening Son Chapel for Pearl Irene Wier, of Roswell, New Mexico.

Mrs. Wier, 88, went to be with her Lord Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at La Villa Assisted Living Home in Roswell.

Walt Isaacs will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dave Terry, Toby Terry, Kit Wier, Zach Wier, Frank Waters, and Casey Terry. Honorary pallbearers will be David Jackson, David Vandiver, and Mike Vlosich.

Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Friday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Mrs. Wier was born July 15, 1922 in Estancia, New Mexico the daughter of John U. Meador and Ozie V. Stiewig Meador.

On July 7, 1942 she was married to Charles Andrew Wier in East St. Louis, Illinois. She was a longtime Pecos Valley resident including Lake Arthur, N.M., Hagerman, N.M., Artesia, and Loco Hills N.M. He preceded her in death July 27, 1982. She was also preceded in death by her parents daughter Judy Ann Terry brother James Wesley Meador and sisters Fannie Opal Bedford, and Bess Myrl King.

Pearl had worked at several places in the area. She was an employee at Standard Corporation in Loco Hills, Palace Drug Store, and Sears in Artesia. She also was a Postal Clerk at the Loco Hills Post Office and operated that office with her husband for 40 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Loco Hills, and also the Eastern Star.


Survivors include her sons Thomas D. Wier and wife Patricia of Artesia, and William M. Wier and wife Gloria of Roswell soninlaw Casey Terry of Hope, N.M. sistersinlaw Mildred Wier of Lovington, N.M., and Dorothy Meador of Hobbs, N.M. grandchildren Dave B. Terry, Toby W. Terry, McKitric L. Wier, Zachary A. Wier, and Shelby R. Wier and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mrs. Wiers family would like to extend their heart felt gratitude to both La Villa Rose Garden staff and the nurses with Vista Care Hospice.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Assurance Home or Vista Care Hospice both in Roswell.
