Services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 3 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Paula Quiroz Herrera of Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Herrera, 82, died Monday, December 30, 2002 at her home. Father Richard Lifrak will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Anselmo Moe Herrera, Jr., Steve Herrera, Benjamin Herrera, Robert Baeza, Jr., Eddie Herrera, and Joe Herrera, Jr. A rosary service is also planned for 6:30 P.M. Thursday at Our Lady of Grace Church. Mrs. Herrera was born June 7, 1920 in Presidio, Texas; the daughter of Andres O. Quiroz and Maria Galvan Quiroz. On February 4, 1940 she was married to Samuel S. Herrera in Presidio. They came form Presidio to Artesia on January 1, 1947. He preceded her in death March 30, 1978. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers Calestro Quiroz, Felix Quiroz, and Andres Quiroz Jr.; a sister Cruz Valasquez; and a son Ruben Herrera She was a housewife and member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Survivors include daughters Emma H. Baeza of Santa Cruz, Calif., Mary H. Onsurez and husband Ramon and Carmen H. Onsurez and husband Natt all of Tulare, Calif., and Jane H. Baeza and husband Robert and Adalberta H. Lara and husband Johnny all of Artesia; sons Anselmo C. Herrera and wife Lupe and Samuel C. Herrera, Jr. and wife Gregoria all of Artesia, and Jose C. Herrera and wife Mary of Tulare; sisters Ernestina C. Fierro and Maria C. Armendariz both of Hobbs; brothers Juan Quiroz, Paulino Quiroz, Moises Quiroz, and Antonio Quiroz all of Hobbs; 28 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
