Paul White

November 6, 1927 — February 20, 2007

Paul Pablo Gene White of 2405 Cerro Rd., Artesia, NM went to see His Lord and Maker on February 20, 2007. Memorial services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 23, at First Baptist Church. Rick Sullivan from First Baptist Church and Cathy Anderson from First Presbyterian Church will officiate. The family will be receiving friends in the Parish Hall of First Presbyterian Church immediately following the services. Paul was born on November 6, 1927 in the tiny settlement of Thomas, NM to Clayton White and Myrtle DeRuse White. Pablo grew up in Albuquerque where he graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1946 and the University of New Mexico in 1950. Pablo also served for four years in the ROTC at UNM. He married Jeannine Jernigan in Hobbs, NM November 11, 1950. They were married until her death on January 25, 1975. Pablo married Betty Welch on February 25, 1978 in Carlsbad, NM. We celebrate his life through his shared memories, words of wisdom and the love of life. His life encompassed many travels, field trials, fishing and hunting, and his grand love of the outdoors. Pablo, as a petroleum engineer, devoted many years in the oilfields of Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma. Well-known and respected for his knowledge of the oil business, he served many years with Summit Energy and Paul G. White Engineering before retiring in 1997. Pablo is survived by his wife, Betty White, of 28 years. His brothers, Edgar Slim and Leroy White, and sisters, Burneal McCall and Mazelle Spence predeceased him. His brother, David White resides in Albuquerque, NM. He is also survived by his four children, Jeretta Fischer David of Bettendorf, IA, Stephen Janie White of Artesia, NM, Jeff Dana White of Midland, TX and Jennifer Doug McAtee of Frisco, TX. He has eleven grandchildren, Jessica MillsChris of Seattle, WA, Jason White of Lubbock, TX, Christopher Fischer of Boston, MA, Kenneth Stuard of Frisco, TX, Katie White of Austin, TX, Kandice Ross Duncan of Artesia, NM, Jeannine White of Lubbock, TX, Rebecca Fischer of Iowa City, IA, Cole White of the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY, Tara McAtee of Frisco, TX and Lance White of Midland, TX. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Katherine Mills and Elizabeth Mills of Seattle, WA. Memorials may be made to Memorial and Honor Program, St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or First Presbyterian Church of Artesia.
