Paul Muncy

Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, at First Baptist Church, for former Artesia resident Paul Leon Muncy of Columbia, California. Mr. Muncy, 39, died March 1, 2005 at his home. Tony Pennington will officiate at the services. Pallbearers will be Jim Hurst, Jim Franks, Steven Thompson, Lee Halsell, Rusty Wynne, and Margarite Alvarado. He was born October 9, 1965, in Artesia; the son of Billy Leon Muncy and Louise Annette Schoonmaker Muncy. His father preceded him in death. He married Susan Wynne Childress on September 5, 1992 in Palo Alto, Calif. Paul was a member of the Baptist denomination. He was a computer programmer and master mechanic, loved water sports, snow skiing and NASCAR racing; and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his wife Susan Muncy; son Paul Justin P.J. Muncy; and daughter Leah Brooks Muncy, all of the family home; his mother Louise Ratigan of Roswell, N.M.; his grandmother Mona Schoonmaker of Artesia; brothers Ray Downs and wife Linda of Roswell, Mike Muncy and wife Susan of Caballo, N.M., and Larry Muncy of Hagerman,N.M.; a sister Margie Pennington and her husband Tony of Artesia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
