Graveside services are scheduled at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 26, at Lake Arthur Cemetery for Paul Hooten of Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Hooten, 64, died Monday, October 24, 2005 at Artesia General Hospital Emergency Room. J.T. Ross will officiate at the services. The pallbearers will be Buddy Shields, Ronnie Mathews, Dennis Jones, David Landers, Lee McHenry, Paul Marshall, John Britt, and Scott Standard. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Tuesday starting at 10:00 A.M. Mr. Hooten was born October 29, 1940 in Artesia, New Mexico; the son of Joe Hooten and Ina Crim Hooten. On Dec. 23, 1985 he was married to Darlene Graham in Carlsbad, New Mexico. He was a lifelong resident of Artesia. He worked as a truck driver and was a member of Eighth and Grand Church of Christ. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother. Survivors include his wife Darlene Hooten of family home; son David Hooten and wife Jacque of Artesia; daughter Judy McNeil and husband Garlan of Lake Arthur, N.M.; brother Billy Joe Hooten of Carlsbad, N.M.; and six grandchildren.
