Patsy Porter

Graveside services are scheduled at 2:00 pm, Monday, October 23, 2023 at Woodbine Cemetery for Patsy Jean (Pat) Porter of Artesia New Mexico. Mrs. Porter died peacefully on October 15,2023 at her home in Artesia surrounded by her family.

Pastor Rick Sullivan will officiate the services. Visitation will be Sunday October 22, 2023 from 2:00-6:00 pm at Terpening and Son Mortuary

Pat was born on February 5, 1931 in Albany Arkansas; the daughter of Hess and Opal Purtle.

Pat married Bill Porter on May 14,1948 in Hope Arkansas and they were married for 50 years. In 1954 Bill and Pat moved to Roswell NM. In 1957 they moved to Duncan NM where she was a school bus driver until they moved to Artesia NM in 1966. After moving to Artesia Pat was a homemaker and she loved working outside in the yard, she was an excellent cook and noted for her banana nut bread, and she loved spending all the time she could with her grandkids, great- grandkids as well as great- great grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bill, her parents Hess and Opal Purtle, 1 great grandchild Quincey Wills, 1 great-great- grandchild Kambree Mc Rae, 3 brothers and 1 sister.

Survivors include Jackie Morgan of Artesia NM, Connie Bostic (Russell) McDade TX, grand children Brian Smith (Kim) Hagerman NM, Leslie Wills (Kelvin) Lovington NM, Allen Jackson (Brittany) Springtown TX, Kim Grass (Billy) Mesquite TX. Great- grandchildren Tanner, Garrett, Jordan, Makayla (Edgar), Tanner (Dallie), Laci (Shawn), Kiersten, Kaylee, Harlee and Riley. Great-Great grandchildren Hudson, Hadlee, Hensley, Kallahan, Clementine, Cameron and soon to be Sawyer.
