Pansy Waldrip

Memorial services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Gateway Church of Christ for Pansy Maxine Waldrip of Ruidoso, New Mexico.

Mrs. Waldrip, 86, died Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.

John Duncan and Jimmy Sportsman will officiate at the service. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Corey Branch, Ross Waldrip, Micah Gipe, Kevin Sanders, Ryan Shaw, Lucas Shaw, Kane Horner, and Ian Shaw. Honorary pallbearers will be her greatgrandsons Zac Branch, Cooper Sanders, Ryder Sanders, Decker Reno, Kace Horner, and Luke Klatt.

Pansy was born March 31, 1928 in Colorado City, Texas the daughter of James Allen Hoover and Jessie Isabel Strong Hoover. She was a longtime Artesia resident before moving to Ruidoso.

On June 8, 1945 she was married to Harold Bill Waldrip in Carlsbad, N.M. He preceded her in death December 16, 1987. She was also preceded in death by her parents son Jimmy Waldrip and six brothers.

Pansy was a homemaker and a member of Hermosa Church of Christ in Artesia and the Gateway Church of Christ in Ruidoso. She was also a member of the Cottonwood Extension Club, a 4H Leader, a member of the Hospital Auxilary and Hospice in Ruidoso, and was a part of the Emergency Response Team in Ruidoso.

Survivors include her daughters Kay Branch and husband Larry of Lubbock, Texas, Glenna Shaw and husband Dick of Alto, N.M., Pam Horner and husband Robert of Artesia, and Kelli Shaw of Ruidoso, and Rodney Shaw of Artesia daughterinlaw Linda WaldripThompson of Weatherford, Texas sister Sue Taylor of Sacramento, CA sisterinlaw Bessie Leaf of Artesia 12 grandchildren Corey and wife Donna, Christi and husband Kevin, Ross and wife Lisa, Micah, Heather and husband Clay, Ryan and wife Jody, Tara, Lucas, Kane and wife Mykol, Logan, Asher, and Ian and 12 greatgrandchildren Reagan, Zac, Addison, Cooper, Ryder, Hannah, Grace, Rachel, Kendall, Luke, Decker, and Kace.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Judes Children Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
