Pamela Harris

Services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Friday, Jun. 1, at First Baptist Church for Pamela Straw Harris, 1512 W. James Ave., Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Harris, 61, died Saturday, May 26, 2012 in Artesia, New Mexico.

Joey White will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lane Ryan, James Carter, Logan Ryan, Daniel Stalnaker, Michael Evans, and Seth Chavez.

Pamela was born July 9, 1950 in Weston, West Virginia the daughter of Granville Berry Stalnaker and Mary Emma Straw Stalnaker. She came to Artesia in 1977 from Michigan.

On July 5, 1970 she was married to Chuck Evans in Jackson, Michigan. He preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 1997. On Aug. 22, 1998 she was married to David Red Harris in Artesia, NM.


She worked for True Value Hardware for a few years and then was a Production Secretary for Yates Petroleum for approximately 18 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and caregiver for her grandchildren, inlaws and many friends for the past 14 years.

She was preceded in death by father Dan Stalnaker, infant brother and sister, inlaws James and Virginia Evans and Oleta Harris.

Survivors include her husband David Red Harris of Artesia mother Mary Stalnaker of Jackson, Michigan sisters Linda Stacy and husband Ron of Jackson, and Trena Henry and husband Paul of Jackson brother Danny Stalnaker and wife Jennifer of Henderson, Texas daughters Shannon Ryan and husband Paul of Artesia, Heather Hartford and husband Josh of Canaan, Maine, Lisa Evans and husband Doug of Monument, Colorado, and Laura Nataro and husband Bart of Plainview, Texas grandchildren Dessi Evans, Lane Ryan, Courtney Hurst, James Carter, Michael Evans, Tristan Evans, Logan Ryan, Lance Ryan, Layton Ryan, Lacie Ryan, JD Nataro and Mason Nataro numerous nieces and nephews longtime friend and neighbor Louise Perkins two beloved pets Maddi and Cutty.
