Funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 26, at Terpening & Son Chapel for Pablo E. Valencia of Artesia, New Mexico.
Mr. Valencia, 91, died Sunday, January 21, 2018 at the Artesia General Hospital Emergency Room.
Burial will follow services at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Mark Valencia, Xavier Valencia, Armando Valencia, Jr., Paul Ontiveros, Paul Valencia, IV., and Israel Valencia, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be his remaining grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary Thursday, Jan. 25, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Pablo was born on March 31, 1926 to Pablo Valencia and Matilda (Esparza) Valencia in Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico.
In November of 1947 he was married to Angela Diaz in Cardenas, Mexico. She preceded him in death on June 14, 2003. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, three brothers, and a grandson Jesse Hernandez.
Pablo was a farm laborer and then later went to work in the oil fields. He came to Artesia in 1959 after working in Nebraska and Colorado. He enjoyed Fishing and playing poker and loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his daughters Tina Frederico and husband Arturo of Artesia, and Yolanda Espinoza of Denver, Colorado; sons Israel Valencia and wife Catalina, Javier Valencia and wife Suzanne, Pablo Valencia, III. all of Artesia, Robert Valencia of Lubbock, TX, Armando Valencia of Artesia, Alonzo Valencia and wife Jessica of Artesia; and Omar Valencia of Phoenix, Arizona; 29 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
